Answer: 31, 10.5

Step-by-step explanation:

(xi)

01. Check whether they are in ascending order.

      20,25,28,29,33,38,42,43

02. Add 1 to no.of terms and divide by 2

      8 + 1 = 9

       9/2 = 4.5

03.If the above obtained value is a whole number, you can directly say that value in the above series, is the median. (Ex:if 4 came for the above value then 4th value in the above series, 29 would be the median)

04.Since this is in decimal then you have to take note between which two whole numbers 4.5 come?

4 and 5 right?

05. So you have to add 4th and 5th value in the above series and divide the sum by 2. This would be the median

4th value is 29. 5th value is 33

So,

29 + 33 = 62

62/2 = 31

(f)

6,20,24,28,15,4,2,1

01. Check whether they are in ascending order. If not write it in ascending order.

1,2,4,6,15,20,24,28

02. Add 1 to no.of terms and divide by 2

      8 + 1 = 9

       9/2 = 4.5

03.Since this is in decimal then you have to take note between which two whole numbers 4.5 come?

4 and 5 right?

04. So you have to add 4th and 5th value in the above series and divide the sum by 2. This would be the median

4th value is 6

5th value is 15

So,

6 + 15 = 21

21/2 = 10.5

So, 10.5 is the median.

Hope it was understandable.
