Answer:

(-2,6)

Step-by-step explanation:

let a1=3 and a2=-7

let b1=8and b2= 4

midpoint of AB = a1+a2/2

= 3+(-7)/2 = -2

= b1+b2/2

= 8+4/2=6

the midpoint of AB is (-2,6)

TO FIND :-

mid point of A (3.8) & B (-7,4)

FORMULA USED :-

IF C ( x , y ) IS THE MID POINT OF A ( a , b ) AND B ( c , d ) then the mid point is

( x , y ) = ( ( a + b ) / 2 , ( c + d ) / 2 )

so,

C ( x , y ) = C ( ( a + b ) / 2 , ( c + d ) / 2 )

SOLUTION :-

let C ( x , y ) be mid point

so,

x = [ 3 + ( -7 ) ] / 2

x = [ 3 - 7 ] / 2

x = - 4 / 2

x = - 2

y = ( 8 + 4 ) / 2

y = 12 / 2

y = 6

( x , y ) = ( -2 , 6 )

ANSWER :-

C ( x , y ) = ( -2 , 6 )
