first we find how much term
Tn =a + (n-1) d
-176 =20 + (n-1)(-4)
-196 =(-4)(n-1)
n=50 .
n is an even number so there are two middle terms exist here
e.g 25th and 26th
so,
25th term =20 + (25-1)(-4)=20-96 = -76
26th term =20 +(26-1)(-4)= -80
Tn =a + (n-1) d
-176 =20 + (n-1)(-4)

If there is a odd no. then... how I will find the middle term??

a=20 ,d=(16-20)=-4
Let the given AP contain n terms, then,
Tn=a+(n-1)d
-176=20+(n-1)-4
-176-20=(n-1)-4
-196/-4=(n-1)
49=n-1
n=50
So we have to find the middle term of this AP,so
n/2=50/2=25
T25=20+24×-4
=20-96
=-76
thank you
