Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1)  to find the midpoint first we should find the distance.

∴ to find the distance we should subtract the smaller co-ordinate from the greater co-ordinate.

let us suppose the 2 be co-ordinate of point A,

and 0 be the co-ordinate of point B.

2 > 0

d = ( A, B ) = 2 - 0

d ( A,B ) = 2

to find the midpoint of  (A,B) we should divide their distance by 2

∴2/2 = 1

∴ the midpoint of 2 and 0 is 1.

2)  8, 2

∴ to find the midpoint first we should find the distance.

∴ to find the distance we should subtract the smaller co-ordinate from the greater co-ordinate.

let us suppose the 8 be co-ordinate of point A,

and 2 be the co-ordinate of point B.

∴ 8 > 2

d ( A ,B ) = 8 - 2

                 = 6

d ( A,B ) = 6

to find the midpoint of  (A,B) we should divide their distance by 2

∴ 6/2

= 3

∴ the midpoint  of 8 and 2 is 6.
