The equation for a geostationary satellite is given by

Ø = colatitude of A

By Pythagoras’ theorem

R = OA = radius of earth

R = 6.38×106 m

sin(Ø) = OA/OP = R/r

=> Ø = sin-1 (6.38×106/4.22×107) = sin-1(0.15)

OR
