(a) In this figure we are given a quadrilateral and we are given its perimeter and 3 of its sides and we need to find the length of the 4th side.

Let x be the length of the 4th side

Perimeter = sum of the 4 sides

25 cm = 4cm + 7cm + 8cm + x cm

25cm = x cm + 19

X = 6cm

The missing length is 6cm

(b) In thia figure , we are given a triangle and we are given its perimeter and lengths of 2 of its sides and we need to find the length of the 4rd side

Let x be the length of the 3rd side.

Perimeter = sum of the 3 sides

20cm = 6cm + 7cm + x cm

X = 7cm

The missing length is 7 cm
