Solution :

We have Provided with a Square in which We have three Columns both vertically and horizontally .

\begin{array}{| c | c | c |}\cline{1-3}4 & 2 & 9\\ \cline{1-3}1 & x & 6\\ \cline{1-3}7 & 5 & 3\\ \cline{1-3}\end{array}

Let the missing number be x

1st Row

Vertically = 4 , 1 and 7

Horizontally = 4 , 2 , 9

2nd Row

Vertically = 2 , x and 5

Horizontally = 1 + x + 6

3rd Row

Vertically = 9 , 6 , 3

Horizontally =  7 + 5 + 3

Let Us by Supposition Verify our required value of x in both Vertical and Horizontal Columns of rows

Now , First add all Vertical Columns of Row 1 , Row 2 and Row 3

Row 1 = 4 + 1 + 7

⇒ 12

Row 2 = 2 + x + 5

⇒ 7 + x

Suppose if we have x = 8 then it will

⇒ 7 + 8

⇒15

Row 3 = 9 + 6 + 3

⇒ 18

Finding the Common difference of the Vertical Column

Row 2 - Row 1

⇒ 15 - 12

⇒ 3

Row 3 - Row 2

18 - 15

⇒ 3

It Means it satisfy the Condition . Hence , the required value of x is 8

Now , Add all Horizontal Columns . In this all the Horizontal Column of each row must be Same

Row 1 = 4 + 2 + 9

⇒ 15

Row 2 = 1 + x + 6

⇒ 7 + x

⇒ 15 -  7 + 7  ( Put 15 in place of x )

⇒ 8 + 7

⇒ 15

Row 3 = 7 + 5 + 3

⇒15

It Means it satisfy the Condition . Hence , the required value of x is 8
