since the nos are in AP , let the nos be a , a+d , a+2d , a+3d
a= 2 , a+2d = 26

the common difference 'd' will be same
so,
 (a+d) - a = (a+3d) - (a+2d)

a+d-2 = a+3d-26

{a will get cancelled }

d-2=3d-26

26-2=3d-d

24=2d

d=12

so the second term = a+d = 2+12
                                             =14

and the fourth term =a+3d= 2+12*3
                                             = 38
