The multiplicative inverse of a number is basically its reciprocal

So, - 3/ 1000 ' s reciprocal would be - 1000/ 3

Hope it helps!

First let's convert the given decimal number i.e. -0.003 into a fraction.

-0.003 = -0.003*1000/1000 = -3/1000.

Now, we can easily find the multiplicative inverse (reciprocal) of the fraction obtained.

Reciprocal of -3/1000 is -1000/3.

Checking if it is the reciprocal:

If it is a reciprocal then the product of the number and it's reciprocal should be 1.

-3/1000*-1000/3 = 1.
1 = 1.

Therefore, -1000/3 (-333.33.....) is the multiplicative inverse of-0.003.
