❍ What is "Multiplicative Inverse"?

⇒ It is the reciprocal of the number.

Question :- Find the multiplicative inverse of the following :-

(a)  \frac{2}{8} = \frac{1}{4}

Multiplicative Inverse,

→ \frac{2}{8} \times x = 1

→x = 1 \times  \frac{8}{2}

→x = \frac{8}{2} = 4

Hence multiplicative inverse of  \frac{2}{8} is \frac{8}{2} \: \sf{or} \: 4.

(b) -13

Multiplicative Inverse,

→ - 13 \times x = 1

→x =  \frac{1}{ - 13} \: \sf{or} \:  \frac{ - 1}{13}

Hence multiplicative inverse of - 13 is \frac{1}{ - 13} \: \sf{or} \:  \frac{ - 1}{13}.

(c)  \frac{ - 6}{ - 5} =  \frac{6}{5}

Multiplicative Inverse,

→ \frac{6}{5} \times x = 1

→x = 1 \times  \frac{5}{6}

→x =  \frac{5}{6}

Hence multiplicative inverse of \frac{ - 6}{ - 5} is  \frac{5}{6} .

(d)  \frac{ - 13}{19}

Multiplicative Inverse,

→ \frac{ - 13}{19} \times x = 1

→x = 1 \times  \frac{19}{ - 13}

→x =  \frac{19}{ - 13} \:  \sf{or} \:  \frac{ - 19}{13}

Hence multiplicative inverse of  \frac{ - 13}{19} is \frac{19}{ - 13} \:  \sf{or} \:  \frac{ - 19}{13} .
