Given: 2x² - 6x + 3

Comparing with the form ax² + bx + c

a = 2 ; b = -6 ; c = 3

Discriminant, D = b² - 4ac

=> (-6)² - 4(2) (3)

=> 36 - 24

=> 12 > 0

Since, the discriminant i.e b² - 4ac > 0

∴ The given quadratic equation has two distinct real roots

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

For equal real roots

b² - 4ac = 0

For no real roots

b² - 4ac < 0
