comparing the given equation with

 {ax}^{2}  + bx + c = 0

Here,

a = 2 \:  \\ b =   \sqrt{3} \\ c \:  =  - 2

 {b}^{2}  - 4ac \\ = { \sqrt{3} }^{2}  - 4 \times 2 \times ( - 2) \\ =3  + 16 \\ =19

Nature of root are real and unequal
