To find the other root.

Sol: As 2 is one of the root, then it should satisfy the following condition

(2)2+b(2)−12=0⟹4+2b−12=0⟹2b=8

or b=4

Hence the equation is x2+4x−12=0

⟹x2+6x−2x−12=0⟹x(x+6)−2(x+6)=0⟹(x+)(x−2)=0⟹x=−6,x=2

Hence the other root is −6
