Nature of roots depends upon value of Descrimnant in a quadratic equation.

1) If Descrimnant is > 0 then roots are real and unequal.

2) if Descrimnant is = 0 then roots are real and equal.

3) if Descrimnant is <0 then roots are not real .

Exp :-

Descrimnant = (-3)² - 4 ( 2 ) ( 5 )

Descrimnant = 9 - 40

Descrimnant = -31

Descrimnant is <0 so, roots are not real
