6,6 are in series... and it becomes 12 ohm, 12 ohm and 12 ohm are in parallel

 \frac{1}{R}  =  \frac{1}{12}  +  \frac{1}{12}

 \frac{1}{R}  =  \frac{1}{6}

R = 6 ohm

AB and DC are parallel

formula of resistance of parallel connection is 1\R = 1\R1+1\R2.......

1\R =1\6 + 1\6

1\R = 1\12

NOW

AD and BC are parallel

so we use formula of resistance of parallel connection as given above

1\R=1\6+1\6

1\R= 1\12

SO NOW WE DO THE TOTAL

1\12 +1\12

1\24

24ohm
