Hey

Here is your answer,

the number whose fifth part increased by 5 means
1/5*x+5 ...................................(1)
Its forth part diminished by 5 means
1/4*x-5 ...................................(2)
now,let us equalise eq.(1) & eq.(2),we have

1/5*x+5=1/4*x-5
x/5+5=x/4-5
x+25/5=x-20/4
4(x+25)=5(x-20)
4x+100=5x-100
4x-5x= -100 - 100
- x = - 200
multiplying both sides by negative sign,we have
x=200

Hope it helps you!

Answer:

Let the number be x.

According to the question we can write as (1/5)x+5=(1/4)x−5

On rearranging

(1/5)x−(1/4)x=−5−5

(1/5)x−(1/4)x=−10

Now taking the L.C.M we get

(4x−5x)/20=−10

Again by transposing

X=200
