Solution:

Let the required number be x.

According to the question;

(3/4)th of the number is 2 more than (2/3)rd of the same number.

Thus;

=> (3/4)th of x = (2/3)rd of x + 2

=> 3x/4 = 2x/3 + 2

=> 3x/4 = (2x + 6)/3

=> 3•3x = 4(2x + 6)

=> 9x = 8x + 24

=> 9x - 8x = 24

=> x = 24

Hence,

The required number is 24.
