Answer

  • The number of bricks needed will be 12800

Explanation

Given

  • Bricks are of dimension 22.5 cm & 10 cm
  • Total area to be paved = 240 m & 12 m

To Find

  • Number of bricks needed

Solution

  • First find the area of the lane and the brick and assume the number of bricks to be x equate the area of lane with the area of the brick × x which will give us our Answer

Area of Brick

→ Area = Length×Breadth

→ Area = 22.5 × 10

→ Area = 225 cm²

→ Area = 225/1000

→ Area = 0.225

Area of the lane

→ Area = Length×Breadth

→ Area = 240 × 12

→ Area = 2880 m²

Number of bricks

→ Number of Bricks × Area of bricks = Area of lane

→ x × 0.225 = 2880

→ x = 2880/0.225

→ x = 12800

∴ Number of bricks needed will be 12800
