Let n be the number of 1.5 cm diameter coins required to form a right circular cylinder of height 10 cm and diameter 4.5 cm.

Now,

Volume of right circular cylinder =n x volume of 1.5 cm diameter coin.

Therefore,

n = π ( 4.5/2)² x 10 / π (1.5/2)² x 2/10

= 45 x 45 / 20x20 x 10 x 20 x 20 x 10 / 15x15x2

=9×10×5

=450
