  • Number of cubes ?

\large\underline{\purple{\sf \orange{\bigstar} Solution:-}}

Edge of cube = 3cm

→ Volume of a cube

→ a³

→ (3)³

→ 27 cm³

Hence,

  • Volume of a cube = 27 cm³

Now,

Length of cuboid = 18 cm

Breadth of cuboid = 15 cm

Height of cuboid = 2 cm

Volume of cuboid

→ l × b × h

→ 18 × 15 × 2

→ 18 × 30

→ 540 cm³

Therefore

Volume of cuboid is 540 cm³

Number of cubes

→ Volume of cuboid/volume of a cube

→ 540/27

→ 20

So,

• Number of cubes is 20

Question given :

  • Find the number of cubes of 3 cm side which can be made from cuboid of dimensions I= 18cm, b = 15cm and h = 2 cm

Given :

  • Length of cube is 3 cm
  • Dimensions of the cuboid are 18 , 15 and 2 cm respectively

To find :

  • The number of cubes that can be kept in the cuboid

Formulas used :

  • Volume of cube = a³
  • Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

Concept insight :

  • In cases where we find the number of cubes of any figure that can be kept in the other figure
  • Or in cases where one figure is melt and made into another
  • We used volume formula

Required soultion :

Volume of cube

  • 27 cm³

Volume of cuboid

  • length × breadth × height
  • 18 × 15 × 2
  • 540 cm³

Number of cubes that can be kept :

  • \sf\implies\::\dfrac{Volume\:of\:cuboid}{Volume\:of\:cube}

  • \sf\implies\::\dfrac{540}{27}

  • 20 cubes
