y = x   is the line which pass through the point  ( 5 , 5) and sum of whose intercepts on the co-ordinate axes is zero.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say line which passes through ( 5 , 5) is

y = mx  + c

=> 5 = m(5)  + c

=> c = 5 - 5m

=> y = mx + 5 - 5m

point at y axis  = ( 0  ,  5 - 5m)

point at x axis  (  (5m - 5)/m  , 0)

5 -  5m  + 5  - 5/m  = 0

=> 5m - 5m²  + 5m - 5 =  0

=> -5m² + 10m - 5 = 0

=> m² - 2m + 1 = 0

=> (m - 1)² = 0

=> m = 1

y = x   is the line which pass through the point  ( 5 , 5) and sum of whose

intercepts on the co-ordinate axes is zero.
