Step-by-step explanation:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Dimensions of larger sheet-

• 36 cm

• 30 cm

Dimensions of smaller sheet-

• 3 cm

• 5 cm

To find :-

The number of sheets with the dimensions of smaller which could be cut from the larger sheet.

Solution:-

We are using the formula for area of rectangle as the sheet is rectangular in shape (Since, dimensions of the sheet are unequal)

Area of larger sheet = Length×Breadth

= (30 × 36) cm²

= 1080 cm²

Since, the smaller sheet is also rectangular.

Area of smaller sheet = length × breadth

= (3 × 5) cm²

= 15 cm²

Now,

Number of sheets that could be cut down from larger sheet = Area of larger sheet/Area of smaller sheet

= 1080 cm²/ 15 cm²

= 72 sheets.

Hence, 72 sheets of dimension (5×3) cm² could be cut from the sheet of dimension (30×36) cm²
