Given equation:

x² −3∣x∣+2=0

When x>0, we have x² −3x+2=0

⇒(x−2)(x−1)=0

⇒x=2 or x=1

and when x<0,x² +3x+2=0

or, (x+2)(x+1)=0

or, x=−2 or x=−1

Therefore, number of real roots is 4.
