Find the number of revolutions a wheel will make to cover a distance of 66 m if the diameter of the wheel is 70 cm.

Answer:

d= 70cm

r= 70/2 = 35cm

circumference is 2πr

hence circumference is 2*22/7*35 = 220cm

(note: value of π is 22/7)

number of revolutions = distance/circumference

revolutions = 66/220 = 66*100/220 = 30

(note: distance 66 is in metres. hence multiplied by 100 to convert it into cm)

the number of revolutions is 30.
