Given:

• Dimensions of the floor = 10 m & 9 m

• Side of one square tile = 75 cm

To calculate:

• Number of tiles required to tile the floor.

Calculation:

According to the question,

→ Area of one tile × Number of tiles = Area of the floor

→ Number of tiles =  \sf { Area\: of \: the \: floor}{Area \: of \: 1 \: sq. \: tile }

_____

→ Side of one square tile = 75 cm = 0.75 m

→ Area of one square tile = ( 0.75 × 0.75 ) m²

Area of one square tile = 0.5625

→ Dimensions of the floor = 10 m & 9 m

→ Length = 10 m

→ Breadth = 9 m

→ Area of the floor = Length × Breadth

→ Area of the floor = ( 9 × 10) m²

Area of the floor = 90 m²

So,

→ Number of tiles = \sf \dfrac{90}{0.5625} \: tiles

→ Number of tiles = \sf \dfrac{90 \times 10000}{5625} \: tiles

→ Number of tiles = \sf \dfrac{900000}{5625} \: tiles

→ Number of tiles = \sf\dfrac {180000}{1125} \: tiles

→ Number of tiles = \sf \dfrac{36000}{225} \: tiles

→ Number of tiles = \sf \dfrac {7200}{45} \: tiles

Number of tiles = 160 tiles

Henceforth, 160 tiles of 0.5625 m² is required to tile a floor.
