Answer

Given:-

  • Length of tiles = 5m

  • Breadth of tiles = 3m

  • Length of room = 300m

  • Breadth of room = 250m

To Find:-

  • Number of tiles required to cover the room

Concept/Formula Used:-

▪Area of room = length × breadth

▪Number of tiles used =

Area of room ÷ Area of tiles

Solution:-

Finding area of room:

Area of room

= area of rectangle

= length × breadth

= 300m × 250m

= 75000m²

Area of room = 75000m

Finding area of tiles:

Area of tiles

= Area of rectangle

= length × breadth

= 5m × 3m

= 15m²

Area of tiles = 15m²

Finding number of tiles used to cover the room:

By using concept;

Number of tiles used

= Area of room ÷ Area of tiles

Putting the values in concept;

Number of tiles used

= 75000 ÷ 15

= 5000

∴ 5000 tiles used to cover the whole room.
