Find the number of tiles required to fit in the floor, in the shape of a square of side 12m, If each tile is a square of side 15cm.​

Answer :

Area of Floor = a × a

                      = 12 × 12 m²

                      = 144 m²

Area of Square tile = a × a

                               = 15 × 15

                               = 225 cm²  

→ Converting from cm to m.

  • [∴ 1 m = 100 cm]

225 cm = 225 ÷ 100

             = 2.25 m

No of tiles required = \tt \dfrac{area \: of \: floor  }{area \: of \: tiles}

                                 \tt = \dfrac{144}{225}

                                 \tt = 64

∴ 64 tiles are required.
