Rate of interest = R = 12%

Time = t = ?

Amount = 4390.40

Interest = Amount - Principle

Interest = 4390.40 - 3500

Interest = 890.40

SI = PRt/100

890.40 = 3500 * 12 * t/100

89040 = 42000t

t = 89040/42000

t = 2.12 yrs
