Given ,

 • The polynomial is (x)² - 1

Thus ,

\sf \hookrightarrow {(x)}^{2} - 1 = 0 \\ \\ \sf \hookrightarrow

{(x)}^{2} - {(1)}^{2} = 0 \\ \\ \sf \hookrightarrow

(x + 1) (x - 1) = 0 \\ \\ \sf \hookrightarrow

x = -1 \: or \: x = 1

Hence , the roots of the given polynomial are -1 and 1
