1. { - 1/9  , 1/9} , 2.  { 12 , 16}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say number = n

then  |n * -9 |   + 3  = 4

=> |-9n|  = 1

=> n = - 1/9  or  1/9

{ - 1/9  , 1/9}

If 7 is subtracted from half the number, the absolute value of the result is 1.

=> | n/2 - 7 |  = 1

=> | n - 14| = 2

=>n - 14 = ± 2

=> n = 16  , 12

{ 12 , 16}
