Given:

  • We have been given two numbers -2/3 and 14/36

To Find:

  • The number that must be added to -2/3 to get 14/36

Solution:

Let the required number = x

According to the Question

 = >  x + (  -  \dfrac{2}{3}  ) =  \dfrac{14}{36}

 =  > x + (  - \dfrac{2}{3} ) =   \dfrac{7}{18}

 =  > x  -  \dfrac{2}{3}  =  \dfrac{7}{18}

 =  > x =  \dfrac{7}{18} +  \dfrac{2}{3}

Taking LCM we get

 =  > x =  \dfrac{7 + (2  \times 6)}{18}

 =  >  x = \dfrac{19}{18}

Hence 19/18 must be added to -2/3 to get 14/36
