12 is the number which when multiplied by 8 is increased by 84.

Given:

A number which when multiplied by 8 is increased by 84

To find:

The number which when multiplied by 8 is increased by 84 =?

Solution:

Let us take the number as X, the number formed after multiplied by 8 is 8X, thereby if X is increased by 84 we get 8X, now that can be showed as

X + 84 = 8X

Subtracting X from 8X, we get the value equal to 84

8X - X = 84

Dividing 84 by 7 we get the value of the X which when multiplied by 8 is increased by 84

7X = 84

X = 12

Therefore, the value of X is 12.
