Given:

9-3x = 12

To find:

Value of "x"

Solution:

Let required number = x

3 time of number = 3x

Subtract from 9 = 9-3x

Result = 12

9-3x = 12

Subtracting 9 from both sides

9-9-3x = 13-9

-3x = 3

Dividing both sides by -3

-3x/3 = 3/3

x = -1

Solution set = {-1}

So required number = -1

Answer:

Value of x = -1

Verification:

9-3x = 12

9-3(-1) = 12

9+3 = 12

12 = 12 which is true.

Answer:

\bf\underline{\underline{Question}}

Q.Find the number whose 3 times when subtracted from 9 becomes 12.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\bf\underline{\underline{solution}}

let the number be x

so according to the questions the equation will be

3 times of number can also written as 3x

so , 9 - 3x = 12

( transpose "+9+" to the right side )

= -3x = 12-9

= -3x = 3

x = 3/-3

X = -1

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\bf\underline{\underline{Varification}}

as we know x = -1

so putting in equation ,

9-3x = 12

taking LHS first

= 9 - 3x

( substituting the value of x = -1)

= 9 - 3(-1)

= 9+3

= 12

RHS = 12

SO, LHS = RHS

∴ VERIFIED ✔️
