Question :-

Find the number whose one-fourth when added to 3 gives 7.

Answer :-

→ Let the number be 'x'

→ Also, sum of one-fourth of this number and 3 is 7

So, we got an equation to compute, i.e -

\frac{1}{4}x+3=7

  • Solving this equation further, to get the value of x we get -

\frac{1}{4}x+3=7\\\\\frac{1}{4}x=7-3\\\\\frac{1}{4}x=4\\\\x=4*4\\\\x=16

x = 16

∴ the required number whose one-fourth when added to 3 gives 7 is 16
