x + y = 7 ---------(1)

difference of those two number = 5

x - y = 5--------(2)

OR

y - x = 5( -x + y = 5)----------(3)

now,

adding both equations,

CASE (i)

x + y = 7

x - y = 5

x = 6

putting X's value in (1) equation,

6+y = 7

y = 1

X = 6 & Y = 1
