Let the number be x

Then, According to question, we get

 \frac{2}{3} x - 10 =  \frac{1}{4} x
 \frac{2}{3} x -  \frac{1}{4} x = 10

Taking LCM 12 in L.H.S

 \frac{8x - 3x}{12}  = 10
 \frac{5x}{12}  = 10
5x = 10 \times 12
5x = 120
x =  \frac{120}{5}
x = 24

Hence, the number = x = 24
That's ur answer

VERIFICATION

Putting value of x in equation 1

 \frac{2}{3} x  - 1 0 =  \frac{1}{4} x
( \frac{2}{3}  \times 24) - 10 =  \frac{1}{4}  \times 24
( \frac{48}{3})  - 10 =  (\frac{24}{4} )
16 - 10 = 6
6 = 6
Hence, R.H.S = L.H.S
Therefore the value of x = 24 is correct

Hope it'll help
