  • Methane, propane, pentane all are saturated hydrocarbon. But ethene are unsaturated hydrocarbon.
  • The main difference is that the carbon atoms of methane are sp3 hybridized whereas a the carbon atoms in ethene is sp² hybridized.
  • Ethene has one doubled bond. It is first member of alkene family(C2H4). Methane(CH4), Propane(C3H8), Pentane(C5H12) are the alkane family.
