The odd ones out are i) synapsis ii) Interkinase

  • The cell cycle consists of two basic phases namely, Interphase and M-phase.
  • The Interphase consists of G1 phase, S phase and G2 phase.
  • In G1 phase, growth of cell occurs. In S phase, synthesis of DNA occurs and in G2 phase, synthesis of proteins occur.
  • The M-phase consists of Meiotic and Mitotic phases.
  • Meiosis 1 consists of Prophase1, Metaphase1, Anaphase1, Telophase1
  • Prophase 1 is again classified into Leptone, Zygotene, Pachytene, Diplotene, Diakinesis.
  • Synapsis, crossing over, Chiasmata occurs in the above mentioned Prophase 1 substages.
  • Interkinase is a resting period between Meiosis 1 and Meiosis 2.
