The odd one out is filament.
- Flowers are the hallmark of angiosperm.
- Androecium and Gynoecium are the essential whorls of a flower.
- The Filament is a part of the Androecium, the male sex organ of the flower while style, ovary and stigma are parts of the Gynoecium, the female reproductive part of the flower.
- The Androecium is composed of stamens. The stamen is divided into two portions: lob structured anthers and filament. A thin layer of Connective tissue is present between these structures. Anthers are tetrasporangiate having 4 locules in which the male gametophyte called the pollen grains are produced.
- The Gynoecium is made up of carpels/pistils. The pistil consists of an ovary, elongated style and an apical stigma.
- The ovary bears ovules, stigma receives the pollen and style is a hollow tube through which germinated pollen tube grows.
