Isosceles traingles have two equal side and these be x
In this triangle one angle is of 90 degree as it is right angled isosceles traingle.
Hence by pythagoras theorem,
 {( \sqrt{2}) }^{2} = {x}^{2} + {x}^{2} \\ 2 = {2x}^{2} \\ {x}^{2} = \frac{2}{2} \\ {x}^{2} = 1 \\ x = \sqrt{1}.......by \: taking \: square \: root \\ x = 1 \: units
ANS: The length of other two side of right angled isosceles traingle is 1 units.

bhavitha2012: sorry thats not the answer
mahesh01082003: it is only the correct answer
mahesh01082003: so what is answer???
bhavitha2012: in my book backside there will be answers so the answer is 3 root 3
bhavitha2012: but there is no solution in my book
bhavitha2012: sorry that is the answer

Answer:

Sides other than hypotenuse of an isosceles triangle are equal.

Let the other two sides be x each.

Using pythagoras theorem

x

2

+x

2

=(5

2

)

2

2x

2

=50

⇒x

2

=25

⇒x=5cm

So the other two sides are 5cm each
