Given,

  • y^2+7y-60  is given.
  • one zero is -12

To find,

  • We have to find the other zero of the quadratic polynomial.

Solution,

We can simply find the other zero of the quadratic polynomial y^2+7y-60 by using the following formula:

      Sum of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial = -b/a    (*)

Now, the sum of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial y^2+7y-60 can be calculated by using (*)

   Sum of zeroes = -7/1

                            = -7

Let the other zero be 'x'

one zero of a quadratic polynomial = -12

then,   x +(-12) = -7

                    x = -7 +12

                   x = 5

Hence, the other zero of the quadratic polynomial y^2+7y-60 if one zero is -12 is 5.
