Answer:
(i) H₂SO₄
Let, the oxid. state of Sulphur be 'x'
⇒x+2(+1)+4(–2)=0
⇒x+2–8=0
⇒x–6=0
∴ x = + 6
(ii) BrO¯
Let, the oxid. state of Bromine be 'x'
⇒x+(–2)= –1
⇒x–2 = –1
⇒x=2–1
∴ x = + 1
(iii) H₃PO₃
Let, the oxid. state of Phosphorus be 'x'
⇒x+3(+1)+3(–2)=0
⇒x+3–6=0
⇒x–3=0
∴ x = + 3
(iv) V₂O₅
Let, thw oxid. state of Vanadium be 'x'
⇒2(x)+5(–2)=0
⇒2x–10=0
⇒2x=10
∴ x = + 5
