Let, the total population be, 'x'

No. of men = (x*45/100)

                 = 9x/20

No. of women = (x*30/10)

                        = 6x/20

Total no. of men and women = (9x/20)+(6x/20)

                                                =(9x+6x)/20

                                                = 13x/20

No. of children =(x-13x/20)

                        = (20x-13x)/20

                        = 7x/20

So, the % of children =[{(7x/20)/x}*100]

                                  =(7x*100/20*x)

                                  = 7*5

                                  = 35%
