To Find:-

  • The perimeter and area of rectangle whose
  • (a) Length = 30 cm and Breadth = 18 cm
  • (b) Length = 16 cm and Breadth = 12 cm

Solution:-

(a) Length = 30 cm and Breadth = 18 cm

⟶ We know,

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) units

Hence,

Perimeter = 2(30 + 18)

Perimeter = 2 × 48

Perimeter = 96 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle is 96 cm.

Now,

We also know,

  • Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth) sq.units

Hence,

Area = 30 × 18

Area = 540 cm²

Area of the rectangle is 540 cm².

(b) Length = 16 cm and Breadth = 12 cm

⟶ Applying same formula for perimeter:-

Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth) units

Perimeter = 2(16 + 12)

Perimeter = 2 × 28

Perimeter = 56 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle is 56 cm

Again applying the same formula for area:-

Area = (Length × Breadth) sq.units

Area = 16 × 12

Area = 192 cm².

Area of the rectangle is 192 cm².
