Question:-

Find the perimeter of a rectangle whose diagonal is 41cm and length is 20cm

Solution:-

Given:-

1. length of rectangle are 20 cm and diagonal is of 41 m respectively.

let, AB = CD = 20 cm and

AC = BD = 41 cm.

Find:-

1. Area of rectangle.

we know

The property of rectangle:-

1. interior angles of rectangle are of 90°.

2. opposite side of rectangle are equal.

3. diagonals of rectangle bisect each other at 90°.

4. both diagonals of rectangle are equal.

So now

To find breadth of side

we use Pythagoras theorem.

=> (AC)² = (AB)² + (BC)²

=> (41)² = (20)² + (BC)²

=> 1681 = 400 + (BC)²

=> (BC)²= 1681 - 400

=> (BC)² = 1281

=> BC = √1281

=> BC = 35.79 cm. we can write it 35.8 cm

so BC = AD = 35.8 cm.

we know formula for

=> Perimeter of rectangle

= (length + breadth)

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (AB + BC)

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 2( 20 + 35.8 )

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (55.8)

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 111.6

Hence Perimeter of rectangle

is 111.6 cm.

i hope it helps you.
