QUESTION

Find the perimeter of a rectangle whose length is 150m and the diagonal is 170m

Given

L=150 (Length = L;B = Breadth;H = diagonal)

H=170 cm

L2+B2=H2

⇒(150)2+B2=(170)2

⇒225+B2=289

⇒B2=289−225

⇒B2=64

⇒B=64

⇒B=8 cm.

Breadth =8 cm.

Area of rectangle =L×B=150×8=1200m2.

Perimeter of rectangle =2(L+B)

=2(150+8)

=2(230)

=460 cm.

Answer:

here, length=150m

diagonal=170m

hence according to the given figure

(170)^2=(150)^2+b^2

b=(170)^2-(150)^2

b^2=6400

b=80m

therefore, perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+b)

=2(150+80)

=2*230

=460m
