Given information

  • ⇀Length of rectangle is 9cm
  • ⇀Breadth of rectangle is 16cm

What we have ask to calculate

  • ⇀We have ask to calculate Perimeters of Rectangle

Formula to "Perimeter of rectangle"

➡️ The perimeter of a rectangle is defined as the sum of all the sides of a rectangle.

The perimeter formulas are the total distance around its sides. In case of a rectangle, the opposite sides of a rectangle are equal and so, the perimeter will be twice the breadth of the rectangle plus twice the length of the rectangle.

Perimeter denoted by the alphabet “p”.

Let us derive the formula for its perimeter .

Suppose a rectangle has length and Breadth as L and B, respectively.

From the definition of the perimeter we know, the perimeter of a rectangle,

  • ⏩ P = 2 ( L + B)

where

  • ⇀ “L” is the length of the rectangle

  • ⇀ “B” is the breadth of the rectangle

Let's calculate Perimeters of Rectangles by using its formula

 \\ \\ \\ \sf \: \longrightarrow Perimeter_{Rectangles} =2( length × breadth) \\\\\\ \sf \: \longrightarrow Perimeter_{Rectangles} = 2(9\: + \: 16) \\\\\\ \sf \: \longrightarrow Perimeter_{Rectangles} = 2(25) \\\\\\ {\large{ { \red{\sf \: \longrightarrow Perimeter_{Rectangles} = 50cm }}}} \\ \\ \\

Therefore the perimeter of rectangle is 50cm

Given: Length(l)= 9cm and width(w)= 16cm

To find The perimeter of a rectangle

Solution: In mathematics, we can find the area, perimeter, the volume of different shapes like square, rectangle, and circle by their respective formulas. For a circle, the perimeter is referred to as the circumference.

Here we are told to find the perimeter of a rectangle that means for a rectangle we have two sides as length(l) and the other two sides as width(w) which makes a total of four sides. So the perimeter of a rectangle can be represented as P=l+l+w+w=2l+2w=2(l+w)

From above l= 9cm and w= 16cm

∴ The perimeter of a rectangle(P)

= 2(l+w)

= {2×(9+16)} cm  [substituing the values of length(l) and width(w)]

= {2×25} cm

= 50 cm

Hence the perimeter of the rectangle is 50 cm.
