Question:

Find the perimeter of a rhombus whose 2 diagonals are 12cm and 16cm.

Given:

2 Diagonals = 12cm and 16cm

To Find:

It's perimeter.

Solution:

Let a rhombus be ABCD.

Now, It's diagonals met at O. And both are equal.

We know that:

All sides of a rhombus is equal.

By Pythagoras therom, we can find the length of a side.

Let the Δ BOC.

OB= 8cm and OC= 6cm.

Since,

(BC)square = (OB)square + (OC)square

(BC)square = (8×8) + (6×6)

(BC)square = 64+36

(BC)square = 100

BC = √100

BC = 10

Now, It's one side is 10cm.

Perimeter of a rhombus = 4× side.

So, 10×4=40cm.

Since, It's perimeter is 40cm

Answer:

40cm.
