  • Step-by-step explanation:

As we know that rectangle has three sides

let side be x

therefore,

side×side×side=perimeter

sum of all sides=perimeter

Now,we are going to put the value as they are given

x+x+x=24

3x=24

x=24÷3

x=8

the value of x is 8

l=3x

b=x

putting the value of x in l=3x

l=3x

l=3×8

l=24

b=x

b=8

length=24 and breath=8

The length of a rectangle is three times its breadth if the perimeter of the rectangle is 24 cm then its length is 9 cm and breadth is 3 cm.

Hi there,

The question given by you is not clear enough. So, I have rewritten the correct question for you and solved it accordingly. Hope it helps. Thanks.

Q. The length of a rectangle is three times its breadth if the perimeter of the rectangle is 24 cm find its length and breadth?

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of the rectangle, P = 24 cm

It is given that length is 3 times the breadth of the rectangle

So, let the breadth of the rectangle be denoted as “b” then the length of the rectangle will be “3b”.

Now, the formula of the perimeter of a rectangle is given as,

P = 2 * [l+b]

Substituting the given values into the above formula, we get

24 = 2 [3b + b]

⇒ 12 = 4b

⇒ b = 12/4

b = 3 cm

length, l = 3b = 3*3 = 9 cm

Thus, the length of the rectangle is 9 cm and its breadth is 3 cm.
