length of rectangle = 24cm

width = 10cm

by Pythagoras,

side of the figure obtained by joining the mid points of the rectangle

= √[ (12)^2 + (5)^2 ]

= √169 = 13cm

the obtained figure will be a square.

side = 13cm

then

perimeter of the obtained figure

= 4 × side = 4 × 13 = 52cm

Answer: perimeter = 52cm
